Lyrics:
Dengar kata pepatah
Petuah dari sang leluhur untuk kita:
Ada asap, ada api
Apa yang kau buat
Itu yang kau dapat
Ada sebab ada akibatnya
Gajah mati meninggalkan gadingnya,
harimau mati meninggalkan belangnya,
manusia mati meninggalkan namanya.
Ada asap, ada api!
Composed for SSA, piano and violin for D’One Children Choir, Rudi Christmas, conductor.
The text of the song is very simple, just a happy kid in a happy day, knowing that it’s a good day to have a good day!
This piece can be purchased from our Shop page.
Composed for SATB divisi acapella.
Bimbang (“Anxious”) is written when I feel so unsure of life, where to go, just as the title depict. It was commissioned by Cantabile Choir, Anggie Wibawanto, conductor.
During the Covid-19 global pandemic time, a lot of us have to limit our activities outside, including choir rehearsals. We as one of lucky choirs who still able to practice online, are still missing the face to face rehearsal, especially the vocalizing. This is another warming up song written for SATB, also available for SSAA acapella. (Jakarta, May 30th, 2020)
Recorded by PSM ITB and PSM Untar
This piece is originally composed for mixed choir in 2017 and made into SA and Piano arrangement in 2022. The title Cahaya Purnama means moonlight, taken from the name of the 15th governor of Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaya Purnama (read: Basuki Cahaya Purnama) who has inspired Cherly at the time she wrote this piece because he has made a lot of good changes toward Jakarta, Indonesia, where the composer has grown up. (Taipei, April 22nd, 2022)
